Cookie Policy

This policy explains what CloudCard Enterprises (Pty) Ltd, d/b/a CloudCard (“we”, “us” or “our”) stores on your device when you use:

It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to keep on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, do the same job, and this policy covers them too.

The short version

On the Website, nothing optional runs unless you accept it. The Website stores only a small record of your cookie choice and some security cookies. The Application, where you sign in and manage your cards, also uses cookies to keep you signed in, and uses Google Analytics and Hotjar to understand how it is used.

The Website (cloudcard.digital)

Strictly necessary

  • Your cookie choice. A first-party cookie called cc_consent remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. It is set only after you choose, lasts 12 months and does not identify you. It is set whichever option you choose.
  • Security cookies from Cloudflare. Our Website is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, Inc. To tell genuine visitors from automated attacks, Cloudflare may set short-lived security cookies, for example __cf_bm or cf_clearance. They are needed to keep the Website available and secure, and are not used for advertising. See Cloudflare’s cookie information.
  • Spam protection on forms. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam. Turnstile runs a check in your browser when the form loads and may use your browser’s storage for that purpose. It is not used for advertising.

Optional: only if you accept optional cookies

  • Booking calendar. On our Book a demo page the calendar is provided by Microsoft Bookings. It loads only if you have accepted optional cookies and then choose to show it. Microsoft may then set its own cookies and process information about your visit, under Microsoft’s privacy statement. If you decline, the calendar is not loaded and you can book with us by email or phone.
  • Analytics and advertising measurement. We may use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the Website is used, and Google Ads to measure and improve our advertising. These are switched on only after you accept optional cookies, and are never loaded if you decline. They may set cookies such as _ga, _ga_* and _gcl_*. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

The Application (app.cloudcard.co.za)

Strictly necessary

  • Sign-in and security. A session cookie keeps you signed in, and a token cookie called XSRF-TOKEN protects your forms against forgery. If you choose to stay signed in, a remember_web_* cookie remembers you.
  • Registration progress. A cookie called incomplete_registration_uuid lets you pick up a sign-up you did not finish.
  • Spam protection. The sign-in and registration forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set or use security cookies such as cf_clearance.

Analytics

  • Google Analytics. Helps us understand how the Application is used. It sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_*.
  • Hotjar. Helps us understand how people use the Application, for example where they click and scroll. It sets cookies and storage entries beginning with _hj. See Hotjar’s privacy policy.
  • Amplitude. Helps us understand how the Application is used, including a session replay feature that records how visitors interact with pages, for example clicks and scrolling. It sets cookies and storage entries beginning with AMP_. See Amplitude’s privacy notice.

These analytics also run on the digital business cards the Application serves, so they apply when you open a card that someone has shared with you. We also use Sentry to detect errors in the Application.

To opt out of these, you can use your browser settings, Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on and Hotjar’s Do Not Track opt-out.

Your choices

  • On the Website, select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to accept or decline again at any time.
  • In your browser, you can block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Website or Application working, for example signing in.
  • Declining optional cookies never stops you reading the Website or contacting us.
